For a set fee, our school travel risk management program offers year-round 24/7 access to our Assistance Centres for advice to help with trip planning, advice and emergency assistance for up to three overseas tour trips per annum, and a school medical trip support plan that is developed in conjunction with your team.

Our three-step approach helps to prepare students, teachers and trip leaders before departure, supports them whilst on field studies trips, and provides assistance should they have a question or concern. 

Before and during travel, year-round support to your school:

A dedicated online portal and Assistance App with information and analysis of security, safety and medical risks across 220 countries and 330 cities, available to school leadership, trip planning  teams and trip leaders.

Individual and destination-specific health and security briefings to support staff and students, as well as offer parents peace of mind.

Access to your own medical and travel security specialists 24/7 to identify risks and offer practical tips and planning for student and teacher safety.

An annual medical support plan developed in conjunction with your school and a detailed local plan of action to be taken in case of incident.

Referrals to reputable hospitals and doctors, and payment of medical expenses arranged.

Emergency support services and crisis response, including the arrangement of medical care, medical or security evacuation, and assistance with keeping parents informed.


In case of an emergency

Student becomes unwell in Xian. Teacher calls Beijing International SOS Assistance Centre.

Assistance Centre doctor assesses student. Medical advice is provided. Local medication availability & translation support given.

Student & staff are directed to nearest verified medical provider & payment is arranged.

School & school's insurer are notified of the incident. At school's request, International SOS doctor speaks to parents.

Assistance Centre follows up with the student, teacher, school, parents & provider. Also helps with necessary travel changes.

The case is followed in its entirety. Final update given to invested parties. Staff and student come home safe and healthy.
